Abercrombie Sure Does Love their Basics
Not having stepped foot in an Abercrombie and Fitch in awhile – I poked my head in one this weekend. There wasn’t a naked man at the front door, which made it a little more inviting. The in store music was at a reasonable volume so I thought I would take a full tour of the men’s section.
What I experienced next was nothing short of a journey in the fashion Delorean. All I saw were the same polos, shirts, tees and flip flops that they had back in 1998. I may be wrong here, but I think A&F will have to reinvent itself soon before it ends up like The Gap.
They should have hired me when they had the chance.*
*Editor’s Note: I went through a month long interview process for a designer position with Abercrombie my first year out of school. I didn’t get the job. This post may be an outlet of bitterness that’s been bottled up for the last four years.
