Dear YouTube: Let’s be honest, your website is a dog’s breakfast. The only thing you had going for ya was a library of videos that when embedded into other websites were SOMEWHAT aesthetically pleasing. Well now you’ve gone and added one more piece of crap to the pile – a default search bar in all your embedded videos.
Dear The Rest of the Internet: You can get rid of this nastiness by including either the &showsearch=0 parameter or the &rel=0 parameter to both video source links in the embed code. I prefer the rel parameter because it takes care of the related video garbage that shows up at the end YouTube videos.
P.S. The video example above was carefully selected based on how I feel about YouTube and the time of season.
