  6. Twitter Best Practices for Brands

Tip #10 from Mashable.com’s list of 10 Twitter Best Practices for Brands

Multiple daily conference calls are the norm in corporate America. Strategy sessions and meetings to plan strategy sessions are also constants. While this may be fine when planning a new product launch or corporate initiative, it is the wrong approach to using Twitter. We spend too much time strategizing with little to no execution. When you have too many ideas and not enough people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done, you are going to find yourself late to the game. Or, in the case of Twitter, late to the conversation. By spending too much time trying to think of the best strategy, you are going to miss priceless opportunities to fix problems, answer questions, turn sour situations around, and create brand affinity with customers. With Twitter your mantra should be: just get out there and try it.
    Agreed.

  7. In defense of Twitter

This is an exciting day for my good friend John Wilson. Not only is it his birthday but it is also the day he finally returned to the interwebs. That’s right folks John is twittering under the alias jayehdoubleyou. If you’re on Twitter, do yourself a favour and start following him. If you aren’t on Twitter go grab that RSS feed. While you’re at start following the Jeremy Watt as well. John is having the mother of all parties tonight and we’ll both be twittering are way through the madness. Should be good twittering times.
