1. Way back in the early days of Tumblr, I scooped up kanyewest.tumblr.com. Being a fan of Kanye, I thought I might as well grab it before some clown does, only for it to sit dormant waiting for the highest bidder.

Having a soft spot for online personal brands, it irks me when someone snags a celebrity’s social media username for the wrong reasons. What are the right reasons? For me it’s representing that celebrity in a way that respects them and echos what they have going on online (all while reserving the name/profile until they want to use it).

So when Mr. West starting upping his social media flyness, I knew what I need to do — create a Yeezy filter for all his online content. A place to highlight all his, blog posts, gallery blog posts and tweets (until, of course Kanye contacts me and wants to take it over).

So here it is, KANYE’S ISH on Tumblr, unofficially Yeezy, but all G.O.O.D.

  5. This is me, downtown Toronto, holding up a print I designed for my friend Ian’s birthday gift (that’s him on the right).

The print is made up of type from my best man speech/poem/rap I recited at his wedding last summer. It was based on Kanye West’s Bittersweet Poetry track.

I’ll try to find some audio of my performance. It’s worth a listen.

  7. Inspiring book cover designs by Ben Wiseman. I picked up Mrs. O, The Face of Fashion Democracy for my Moms (@lyndawatt) for Christmas. The cover illustration popped off the shelf (and she’s really into Mrs. O’s fashion game).

  8. The Hoverboard is a project made by Nils Guadagnin, a young french artist.

It is a copy of the Hoverboard from the movie Back to the Future II. Integrated into the board and the plinth is an electromagnetic system which levitates the board.

  9. feltron:

Matt Stevens drew a Nike Air Max 1 every day in the style of some of his favorite designers/illustrators/thinkers and ended the series with a tabulation of the project in the style of this guy who counts lots of little things.

Sick.
