The intersection of music, design and photography is one I like to swag out on. Clearly, so does The Weeknd. His second mixtape, Thursday, which he dropped yesterday, does doughnuts on those aforementioned crossroads. It’s hard not to smell what’s he’s cookin’.

And another one…last design for Nick Miller’s book, Isn’t It Pretty To Think So?. Got inspired last night by an old photograph I had hanging around (taken by John Wilson). Feels as though it’s somewhat American Apparel influenced. I wanted to put the type on the curtain but felt in the end it was too distracting from the image. You can view my other designs here.
Interesting fact about the photograph: It was taken 12 hours after I met, what ended up being my wife, in the room that I would end up proposing to her in four years later. Life/love is crazy.
John Cho Moore grew tired of the limitations of the industrial design process and is now trying to capture the essence of design with his beautifully handmade bamboo and canvas bags.
I firmly believe that as a designer if you have an intimate relationship with the manufacturing and the materials that you’re working with your designs will have more meaning and integrity.
