The Big Picture’s Haiti, ten months later post had me looking back at the photos I took while I was there. A few things came to mind while I was going through them.

1. I still can’t believe I was Haiti a few days after the earthquake.2. Sadly it doesn’t look like the situation in Haiti has improved.3. I feel helpless to make it better.

Pictured above is a child I photographed while I was there and a photo of myself setting up the shot. Again, I can’t believe I was in Haiti a few days after the earthquake.

Matt, the photographer that took this photo was staying at the same hotel as me in Haiti. It was an exciting moment when he arrived at the Hotel the evening he capture this shot.

To see it now, all over the internet summarizes for me, how surreal this entire experience has been. My time spent in Haiti will be forever etched into my memory and consciousness. The people of Haiti will be forever on my heart.

If you haven’t donated to Haiti relief yet, consider taking the time and resources to do so. I saw first hand the good work The Salvation Army was being able to accomplish. To donate:

In Canada - Text HAITI to 45678 ($5)
In U.S.A. - Text HAITI to 52000 ($10)
I hope to get around to sharing the images and video I captured in Haiti sometime this week.
