Found photo of a Pixar employee standing while working. I’ve only completed one full day of standing at my desk. Been doing some research and apparently after 3 or 4 full days your muscles adjust and it’s smooth sailing from there. Notable benefits of standing at your desk while working include:
- Posture - Improved posture. Standing will prevent slouching in my chair and will keep my core active throughout the day.
- Productivity - Increased focus and concentration. Standing doesn’t allow me to slump over at my desk and slowly become distracted, when I should be doing some real work. There’s something about standing up that makes you want to get more done.
- Calories - Standing burns one more calorie per minute than sitting. Not a huge concern for me but still worth noting.
