Currently watching When Harry Met Sally. I really like this movie. There’s something about it’s serendipitous 80’s flare that always puts a smile on my face.

Sidenote: Sally reminds me of one Ms. Julie Brown.

The Social Network - Full Trailer

This one too. Holy shit. Whoever is putting together these Social Network trailers is doing an incredible job.

Looking forward to this.

Lights, Camera, Appreciation

Long have I loathe watching movies. At times, the phrase itself, let’s watch a movie, has sent my eyes upward towards the sky, as if to say “there’s gotta be something better to do”. I now write with a new appreciation.

Since returning from Varadero I have watched four movies and have one rental in the batter’s circle; Rachel Getting Married, Into the Wild, Marley and Me, Religulous and The Lost City. All worthy of the rental fee (I suggest reading the book, Into the Wild before watching the movie). Though my new acknowledgment for film is not about the quality of the flick, but more about the quality of the experience. Me time, as some might put it, or us time if you’re lucky enough to have a significant other.

In my Web 2.0 pace of life, rarely does time allow me to unplug and relax. In an era of pay freezes and bailouts, this is something we all should give in to. A temporary escape from life’s trials and tribulations. A break from CNN, TMZ and AIG. Sitting down to a feature presentation is an excuse to do just that. And that’s something I’m learning to appreciate.
