Notes on Tumblr? No Comment?
Tumblr released the goods for their new notes feature this week. For those of you who don’t know what’s up — Notes on Tumblr are basically the fly meter for your posts (here’s an example). Notes can be two things:
1. A Reblog - When a Tumblr user takes your post and re-posts or reblogs on their site.
2. A Like - When a Tumblr user gives your post some “I heart this” props.
Basically the Notes feature is Tumblr’s comment killer. They’ve been cooking this feature up for awhile and to echo what they said back in the day, I think it has potential to be significant to the web. With that being said, I’m keeping comments on my site for now. I’m not ready to turn my back to them just yet.
Update: I have since removed comments on this blog. Oh and I started my own conversational marketing company, Conversated Media. #shamelessplug
Josh B. on Tumblr
Dotcomrade Josh Barber has finally made the switch to Tumblr. I helped him tweak his theme a bit. Go say hi. If you hadn’t already figured it out, I’m a fan of Tumblr and encourage those who ever wanted to get into blogging to try it.
Good news. My brother Ryan started a Tumblr. Or as he likes to call it “my online gym of internet goodness”. I styled it for him, may be a bit buggy in Internet Explosion. But enough chit chat, go say hello.
I Have a Tumblr Following Rule
I have a tumblr following rule: The number of people I follow can’t equal a number greater than three times the number that are following me. Currently there are 6 people following me which allows me to be following 18 people.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about sign up for Tumblr and you’ll be in thy know.
Happy Easter.
I Bringing Blogging Back
Rakim, the microphone soloist said it best, it’s been a long time. This isn’t the first time I’ve had to apologize to the internet for my lack of posting, which in the past I’ve associated with a general lost of interest in my site. However, this time around I was just straight up busy. A good busy though. A blessed, excited and love the internet, kind of busy. I’ll elaborate on my busyness in the near future, for now I’ll introduce you to the me dot com face lift.
I’ve switched my content manager system from WordPress to Tumblr. The main reason for making the switch is best describe by Jakob Lodwick’s sidebar “My site is powered by Tumblr, the blog system for busy people”. The design is a product of many influences. The most important being the work of one Jim Houser.
Oh, almost forgot, Tumblr is a comment free enviroment. So please send all your comments and love notes to jeremywatt {at} gmail.com. Alright, I brought blogging back, so get ready to have some fun.
